Abstract

Cu(In,Ga)S2 (CIGS) nanoparticles were synthesized by hot-injection method at different temperatures in the range of 225 - 265 C under nitrogen ambient. The preferred orientation, crystallinity, phase, composition, and morphology of CIGS nanoparticles were confirmed by x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive microscopy (EDS), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The XRD data shows that only CIGS phase was in the powder being obtained after synthesis. The size of CIGS nanoparticles varied in the range of 5-30 nm. EDS data indicates that the composition of elements in CIGS nanoparticles is quite uniform and close to the starting ratio of the precursors. The crystallinity increased with increasing synthesis temperature. The CIGS nanoparticles were dispersed well in toluene solvent during long duration
